Last month leaders of the ELCA Advocacy Network met with White House and House representatives, urging law makers to find solutions that would aid all Americans but not hurt those most in need.
“It is important to reduce deficits and address entitlement spending, and this should not be done in a way that harms low-income families and people in poverty... people living in poverty have been affected and sacrificed enough,” said Rev. Andrew Gensler, director of the ELCA Advocacy Network.
