Grace, FACE, and KPFT!

Grace Lutheran was the center of attention this past week with nominations in a local award show, and a special radio appearance by Pastor Lura.

Several Grace Lutheran Members, were nominated for AbOUT Magazine's 2012 First Achievers in Community Excellence Awards, or FACE Awards. Nominees included Charles Wilson, Tanya Hyde, Bridget Jensen, Hal Core, and Pastor lura. At the end of the night, Pastor Lura was honored with the Top Female Community Activist Award! Other award winners of the award show included Democratic Party Chairman, Lane Lewis, and local entertainer, Tye Blue. To read more on the FACE Award Show, please click here.

Earlier in the week Grace was also highlighted on the radio airwaves with an interview on FM 90.1 KPFT, radio for peace. The interview featured Pastor Lura and several other Houston area spiritual leaders discussing the importance of religion in the LGBT community.
