These readings are for your daily prayer and Scripture reading for this season of Lent. They are chosen to compliment the readings for each Sunday. I believe that any time you read Scripture, the Holy Spirit can speak to you, but I think you will get the most out of these Scripture readings if you read them thinking about Sunday’s Scripture readings, and if you read as many as possible. You can always go back and read the passage for a day you missed!
These are the readings that we will use for our daily telephone prayers at noon. If you are praying on your own, you will know that you are still reading in unity with others.
You can read any translation that you like, but for some of these, you might want a Bible that has some study notes or explanations in the margins. Also remember that anytime you read something in the Bible that you have a question about, you can always bring your question to others at church, and to me!
May the Spirit speak to you this Lent. May you hear how God is always, always faithful to us, even when we are not faithful to God. And may God strengthen our faith through our reading and prayers!
