Thank You, Grace Lutheran, For Helping me Support the Race for the Cure

(On Saturday, July 30 at 8 am, Grace will host a garage sale raising money for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure. The Garage sale's organizer, Januari Leo, writes to thank the church for its support.)

I am so proud to be walking in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure this coming November as a part of the team, SAndie’s Angels. Andie Loftus, one of my best friends who I have known since I was five years-old, was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. It was a rough time for her and her family; her son was an infant at the time, and not knowing if she would be around to see him grow up was a nightmare that no parent wants to face. She fought hard and came out on top; she’s cancer free and working hard to stay that way. This will be her second year to walk, and her team continues to grow.

60 miles over three days is a breeze compared to the money I need to raise in order to walk! $2,300 is the minimum required to participate, and I’m doing everything I can to reach my goal. I will be having a “garage sale” (minus the garage!) on Saturday, July 30 from 8AM-12PM in the Grace Lutheran parking lot. All proceeds will go towards my walk. I encourage everyone to attend; friends have donated some pretty great stuff thus far. If you would like to donate items, I’d be happy to come take them off your hands. Please email me at januarileo@yahoo.com, or you can drop it off the morning of. I’ll be out there by 7AM to set up. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please visit www.the3day.org, and search for Januari Leo.

Thank you so much, Grace Lutheran Church, for supporting me in my efforts! I look forward to providing you with a positive update!

-Januari Leo
