Houston Pride Festival & Parade, June 25: Come as You Are

Sometimes, simplicity is best. In keeping with this year's laid-back Pride Houston theme, "Live. Love.Be.", Grace Lutheran will forego the high-concept thematic approach of the past few years in favor of something more...relaxed, more casual, more free-form. Our festival booth and parade entry will reflect this organic coming-together of minds and hearts...

Festival particulars: for those who prefer daytime excitement, Grace will host a covered booth from noon to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 25. Volunteers are needed for the 11:00 a.m. set-up and to host in three-hour shifts. Also needed are some creative minds to help come up with a table display that shows Grace off to our community! Contact Hal Core if you can help with festival preparations or serve as host on the festival day.

Parade particulars: we'll gather at Grace on Saturday, June 25 from 3-7 p.m. to put together whatever signs, banners and music-techno stuff we want to use during the parade, then head over to our assigned parade starting point. Good news: we are virtually assured a spot early in the parade this year! For the parade, costumes will be whatever you want to wear: Grace t-shirts, whatever you put on that day, or something fabulous that you created just for the occasion - it's all good! Creative minds are needed to come up with positive messages about Grace for the banners that we wave to the awesome spectators. Also needed is someone to assist with the sound system - if you can hook-up a dvd player to a t.v., then you got what it takes in this respect.
