Renovation Update

Renovations at Grace are at full swing. The Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall will be completed in time for our visit from Bishop Michael Rinehart this Sunday (March 27) and the potluck to follow. The floors in the Sanctuary are completed and the pews are now being reinstalled while the worn fabric around the upper walls is removed and the plaster behind it is painted. In the Fellowship Hall about half of the new floors have been laid. The ceilings in the hallways have been refinished but still need new trim and the crew has started refinishing the ceiling in the Lingle Parlor.

Please remember all of our crew in your prayers. Also remember to pray for our congregation. As exciting as the renovations are, change can be very stressful for some of us. We are asking God to create many wonderful moments for dialogue and exchange from this process.

We've been posting photos of the progress on our Facebook page. "Like" us and follow along with the fun! Here are some of our favorites:

The first step was removing the old carpet on one half of the Sanctuary and laying down the new tile

Then we moved the pews to the otherside and repreated the process, now we're working on putting the pews back (leaving a little more room between them this time)

We're also removing the worn fabric that was added to the upper walls of the Sanctuary during a previous renovation and repairing and painting the plaster behind it.

One of the most exciting things about the renovation has been the way it's forced us to create adaptive worship spaces. For our Ash Wednesday service we set-up outside in the Walberg Meditation Garden and for the last two Sundays we've worshiped in the round in the Fellowship Hall.
