Members and friends of Grace Lutheran Church are invited to attend the Interfaith Prayer Service for Immigration Reform Thursday, January 27 at 10 am at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Houston.
Bishop Mike Rinehart of the Gulf Coast Synod of the ELCA (Grace’s parent denomination) will be preach at the service. After the one hour service participants are invited to an information session on immigration issues.
“For too long people of faith have avoided the issue of immigration” said Lura Groen, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church. “Over and over again the scriptures call on us as people of faith to welcome immigrants and strangers with the same love with which God has welcomed us. To deny that call is to deny our faith.”
Christ the King Lutheran Church is located at 2353 Rice Boulevard. Parking will be available at Rice University Stadium lot across the street. Enter on Greenbriar Drive at Entrance 13B only.
